SEALCOATING SCUFF MARKS
While the average dry time for sealcoat is 24 to 48 hours, the actual cure time for sealcoat usually takes 30 to 90 days (depending on the average ambient temperatures). During this cure time the sealcoat material is susceptible to power steering marks and other various tire scuffing. We add a latex additive to our material which minimizes this effect as much as possible. The frequency of this scuffing during the cure time is directly related to the existing parking lot layout and the temperature (the hotter it is the more scuffing will occur). Please be assured that this is a normal occurrence and these marks will wear off and subside after the sealcoat has cured.
In the meantime, if you would like to minimize this scuffing, make sure that all vehicle make slow, gradual turns and not turn their wheels while their vehicle is sitting in one spot.
